Elmont Man Robbed Boy’s iPhone at Knifepoint, Cops Say


An Elmont man was arrested Tuesday for stealing a young teen’s iPhone at knifepoint, Nassau County police said.

Delano White, 17, allegedly approached the 13-year-old as he was walking on Baylis Avenue at 3:30 p.m. According to detectives, White pushed the the victim to the ground and displayed a knife. He removed the boy’s backpack and took his iPhone before fleeing on foot.

White was identified as the suspect after an investigation and was arrested and charged with robbery. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday. The phone was not recovered.
