A Merrick man has been accused of injuring a Nassau County police officer while resisting arrest on Monday evening.
Officers responded to a call of a neighbor disturbance on Blanche Lane, but when one officer tried to interview Kenneth Wat, he flailed his arms and hands in the officer’s face, refusing to be questioned shortly after 6 p.m., police said.
The 53-year-old man then grabbed the officer’s left wrist tightly and shoved him backwards, police said.

The officer suffered injuries to his knee, hand and forearm when Wat became more combative while being handcuffed, police said.
The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Wat was charged with assault, resisting arrest and obstructing government administration.
He will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead
