Fake Fed Choked Teen in Elmont, Cops Say

Nassau County police said they caught a man who allegedly lied about being a federal agent choking an 18-year-old woman in Elmont over the weekend.

Officers responded to a call of a disturbance at the corner of Meacham Avenue and Eagle Avenue, where they happened upon the scene at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Warren Collins, 57, of Levittown, was holding the woman on the ground, police said.

Officers separated the two and Collins identified himself to officers as a federal agent, police said.

Investigators found that he misrepresented himself and had confronted the victim about possible alcohol possession, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was treated and released.

Collins was charged with criminal impersonation and obstruction of breathing. He also had an open warrant for unauthorized use of a vehicle, police said.

A judge set bail for him at $20,000 bond or $5,000 cash. He is due back in court Wednesday.
