A Shelter Island man has been accused of stabbing another man over the weekend, authorities said.
Carlos Ramirez-Robles was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a forged instrument after Shelter Island Police said he gave officers false identification.
Police said the 24-year-old man stabbed the victim with a knife at 9 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment.
Ramirez-Robles was arraigned at Shelter Island Town Justice Court.
U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement was notified, police said.
