Fla. Man Charged With North Sea DWI Crash


A Florida man was arrested for driving while drunk and high on drugs after he crashed his car in North Sea early Saturday morning, Southampton Town Police said.

Matthew Lapiana was driving on Noyac Road when he left the roadway near Lake Drive shortly before 6 a.m., police said.

Officers found the 22-year-old Tampa man to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol, police said.

Lapiana was charged with driving while intoxicated by drugs and alcohol.

He was taken to Southampton Hospital, where he was treated and released.

He was released on an appearance ticket and is due in Southampton Town Justice Court at a later date.
