Valley Stream Hit-and-run Driver Hurts Cyclist

A bicyclist was seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver in Valley Stream early Sunday morning, Nassau County police said.

A 37-year-old man was riding his bicycle on Brookside Drive when he was hit by a small dark car at 3:38 a.m., police said.

The driver fled the scene without stopping to see if the man was okay, according to police.

The victim was critically injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Detectives ask anyone with information about this crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
