Franklin Square Bank Robbed


A Franklin Square bank was robbed Friday night, Nassau County police said.

Robbery squad detectives said the suspect entered TD Bank on Hempstead Turnpike at 7:48 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The bank teller complied and handed the man an undetermined amount of cash and fled on foot west on Hempstead Turnpike.

Police said four employees and two customers were inside the building at the time of the robbery.

No injuries were reported.

The robber is described as a white male, between 30 and 35 years old, approximately 6-foot-1, wearing sunglasses, a yellow baseball cap, a long sleeve black shirt and blue jeans.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
