The woman dubbed the Hot Dog Hooker is set on returning to Long Island’s most talked about wiener stand where she proudly spreads condiments on beef hot dogs and advertises her independent stripping service.
Catherine Scalia was released from jail Tuesday, four days after Nassau County police arrested her for allegedly using the Baldwin hot dog stand as a front for prostitution.
She reportedly pleaded guilty to prostitution. She is expected to be sentenced to seven days in jail on June 18 and was ordered by a judge to have a psychiatric evaluation.
Police said she offered sex for money to an undercover detective that stopped by her hot dog stand on Sunrise Highway in Baldwin last week.
The 45-year-old proud stripper walked out of jail Tuesday, raising her arms in the air and denied she is a prostitute, maintaining that she is a stripper.
“Why should I get arrested for prostitution if I’m going to show my cleavage in a bikini and sell hot dogs,” she said, according to Fox 5. “I’m not pleading guilty to prostitution, I’m pleading guilty to being a stripper.”
The defiant hot dog saleswoman told reporters that she gave the detective her business card and he called her up. When he arrived, Scalia said, she started dancing and was arrested soon after her private show started.
After being released, Scalia promised she’ll be cooking hot dogs again and will continue stripping to help pay the bills.
“Come to the hot dog truck tomorrow,” she was quoted as saying. “I’ll have a bikini on, a nice hot pink one.”
