Sit back, relax and get ready to experience one of the best movie trailers for summer 2012. The trailer is sure to go viral on YouTube. It currently has over 70,000 views after being posted for a day.
Christopher Nolan’s third and final installment to his Batman series, “The Dark Knight Rises,” consists of a celebrity drenched cast with the likes of: Christian Bale, Liam Neeson, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard, just to name a few.
The latest trailer is all about the suspense, while previous ones focused more on drama and action.
Anne Hathaway, who plays Catwoman, first speaks the trailer’s first words. She says, “There’s a storm coming.” Batman retorts, “You sound like you’re looking forward to it,” and she answers, “I’m adaptable.” The suspense can instantly be felt with those beginning lines.
Next, Nolan goes for fear when Tom Hardy’s character, Bane, is introduced. “What are you,” Batman asks. “I’m Gotham’s reckoning,” Bane lashes back.
Unlike other trailers where Bane’s words were muffled and uneasy to understand, he is clearly audible in the final trailer.
Joseph Godon-Levitt’s character, John Blake asks, “Did they kill him?” “I’m not sure,” Catwoman tearfully replies.
In another clip that features Batman and Bane, Batman asks why he wasn’t just killed. “You’re punishment must be more severe,” Bane creepily answers.
The city of Gotham is in dire need for their hero and no one knows if he is coming back in the middle of the trailer. But he has to come back — there would be no movie otherwise!
Batman makes his way back into Gotham City and Catwoman warns him to be afraid of Bane. Alfred, played by Michael Cane doesn’t want Batman to take on Bane. “I won’t bury you. I’ve buried enough members of the Wayne family,” he says.
In the most dramatic lines of the trailer Catwoman preaches to Batman, “You don’t owe these people any more. You’ve given them everything.”
“Not everything. Not yet,” he replies.
That’s enough for us, anyone else pre-ordering their midnight tickets for “The Dark Knight Rises?”
