A 44-year-old man who runs a religious goods store has been accused of drugging a 17-year-old male employee and having sexual relations with the victim in Inwood four months ago.
Nassau County police arrested Daniel Miller on Thursday at his West Broadway home and charged him with criminal sexual act.
Police said Miller, who owns Botanica on Mott Street, gave the victim a cup containing a liquid mixed with Lorazepam, an anti-anxiety medication, and told him to drink it at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 3.
The victim, who was working his first day at the store, was unaware that he was being drugged. He woke up 12 hours later in Miller’s home, police said.
Miller then drove the victim home, where he called 911.
Miller complained of chest pain upon his arrest and was taken to a local hospital where he was admitted.
