Wondering where Justin Bieber will be on May 20?

Well, it appears that the 18-year-old singer will be one of the performers during the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, which will go down at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

It was also announced that Carrie Underwood, LMFAO and The Wanted, will be joining The Biebs during the music celebration next month.

The award show will air live on ABC at 8 p.m.

The teen superstar’s upcoming performance will come one month before his highly anticipated album “Believe” is scheduled to be released. The album is expected to drop June 19, according to reports.

In other Billboard news, it was also announced that Adele, LMFAO, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne lead this year’s artists for the awards show.

Billboard reported on its website that singing sensation Adele leads all finalists with 18 award categories, including Top Artist and Top Female Artist.

Adele is coming off a solid showing at the Grammy’s in February where she dominated the award show, winning six awards, including Best Album for her sophomore album “21.”

Right behind Adele is LMFA, who appear in 17 award categories.

With 13 award categories is pop superstar Rihanna, who along with Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne, each came away as finalists in double-digit categories.

So how does one earn such honors?

Billboard explains:

“The awards will reflect Billboard’s chart rankings based on key fan interactions with music, including album sales and downloads, track downloads, radio airplay and touring as well as streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Vevo, Youtube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.”
