A Queens man has been jailed on allegations he broke into rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs’s East Hampton mansion and threw a party for one on April Fool’s Day.
East Hampton Town Police arrested Quamine Taylor, who was charged with trespassing and petit larceny. The unemployed 30-year-old is being held in Suffolk County jail after his bail was set at $2,000.
“I just wanted to get out of the city for a while,” he told The New York Post in a jailhouse interview on Thursday. “I was actually hoping to stay like 15 to 17 days.”
Police said Taylor took a Long Island Rail Road train from his hometown of Jamaica to East Hampton. He then took a cab to Diddy’s mansion, where the rap mogul has held some of his famed parties.
Taylor allegedly broke in through an unlocked door, raided the fridge and liquor cabinet and made himself at home before setting off the house alarm.
He falsely claimed he was a friend of Diddy’s and had permission to be there when officers first arrived, but was eventually busted by a caretaker, police said. Police later learned Taylor was arrested for pulling the same stunt in 2001.
The Post said Combs’ spokeswoman declined comment.
In 2010, a Florida woman claiming to be Combs’ wife was arrested in East Hampton. Authorities said she was found twice at a home she mistakenly thought was owned by Combs.
