Bellerose Terrace Man Charged in Robbery

A 21-year-old man was arrested on Friday for a robbery that occurred in Bellerose Terrace earlier this week, Nassau County police said.

Police arrested Thomas Reilly, of Bellerose Terrace, two days after he allegedly put a box cutter to a man’s neck and robbed him for money and his car, police said.

Police said the incident occurred on Wednesday around 3 a.m., when Reilly and another passenger were riding in the victim’s car in the vicinity of Ontario Road and 244th Street after buying cigarettes. Reilly then allegedly pulled out the box cutter after they all exited the car, police said.

He then got into the driver’s seat and drove off eastbound on Jericho Turnpike, police said.

After an investigation, police found the car and arrested Reilly in Floral Park on Friday.

He is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. He was expected to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
