Amen pbug56! try to get a direct flight to Charlotte Nc. There are thousands of long islanders living there. Jet Blue would be great. I know the recession has hurt but I feel that someone is asleep at the wheel. No problem at the two big airports with getting flights and they are always booked.

Whenever I've needed to fly domestically, I've checked out whether I could fly of of Islip. What I've found was; 1. The incredibly family UNfriendly SW (sure, if you pay enough it's not as bad), 2. there are either no flights to where you are going, or you have to fly 1000 miles the wrong way to get somewhere 200 miles away, or 3. that the airfares are at least 2 to 3 times what they would be at a NYC airport, or 4. you have to fly on cobranded baby airlines with pilots barely out of high school paid so poorly they have to moonlight just to eat.
