I think the Presidents of the PBA,SPA is thinking for themselves. County Exec.Mangano is not cutting Patrol cars they are still patrolling the areas. nothing as far as safety is being cut and he is trying his best and I think the PBA Pres. should work with the County Exec instead of trying to be a HERO with all the police men and women.

Someone quoted average crime in Nassau, but in the 8th and 2nd precincts burglaries are up 300%…Take a look at NCPD’s own website, the numbers are there!

This plan is going to be devastating to our county. All anyone cares about is how much a street cop makes, but when was the last time an NCPD officer was arrested or in trouble for taking a bribe or something similar….it does not happen, because you gt the best when you pay well!….Slow down, come up with a plan that makes everyone happy and stop shoving this one down the throats of the taxpayers at our children’s and parents expense

This plan has to be slowed down before the rubber stamp legislature closes half of the precincts because someone said it would save 20 million dollars. A plan as drastic as this should have a complete review and study done to crunch the numbers. Mangano has been wrong several times and if he is wrong here the damage will be devastating. This administration is starting to look desparate lately and it seems their fight with the unions is going to a whole new level. If this plan doesnt work our property values will suffer as no one will want to invest or do buisness in Nassau.

Hey why not shut all the pcts? Have all the cops come out of Mineola!! This is a joke I am a life long Republican but what these R legislators and our MORONIC county executive plan (which i dont buy into their BS) wont effect my families safety is unbelievable. They want to take cops of the street but yet pay the top brass more money? This guy Dale is a putzs!! He is supposed to be a leader haha a real leader is respected by their troops, his troops think he is a joke and have no respect for the man unlike the last commishioner Mulvy his cops would of took a bullet for him!! I hope these idiots that are willing to risk our safety have no plans on running for office again because they lost my vote

Here are the real stats from the Nassau County Police Department’s website:

Year-to-Date ending 2/6/2012
Year- Total Crimes — Total Burglaries
2009- 3,771 — 225
2010- 3,746 — 250
2011- 3,071 — 163
2012- 3,461 — 225

As you can see, total crime from last year is down about 10% since 2010. Burglaries are also down 10% since 2010.

The 12 feet of snow storms we had in winter 2011 likely created an anomaly year …But feel free to continue the scare tactics and propaganda. You could have just as easily made the headline “Crime in Nassau County Down 10% since 2009-2010″.

The Fourth and Seventh Precincts are in the area which was under an evacuation order issued by Ed Mangano himself in August just before Hurricane Irene because they are in low lying areas at risk of flooding. The “realignment” plan proposes moving existing facilities and equipment into the Fourth and Seventh and proposes the possibility of selling off the excess police real estate once the policing centers are opened. One has to wonder how well this plan has actually been thought out.

Tom Dale doesn’t have a clue about policing in s suburban model. He has a demonstrated track record of mediocre management skills. He’ll be remembered as a complete buffoon. Tom Krumpter is a one trick pony, he throws numbers around that have no basis in fact. He’s pretended to be a lawyer and an accountant in the past, he has no license in either profession. Nassau County is being lied to by the police administration and the County Executive’s office.
