Maybe, just maybe, the new administration will be brave enough to address the financial mess with a proper approach, that of actually RAISING taxes to help cover the shortfall. I understand all the political rhetoric on the topic but the bottom line IS the bottom line and we can no longer keep pushing debt under the carpet for some magical occurrence to make it go away. We have roads, buildings, and all other forms of infrastructure that are in beyond shabby condition. The old saw about "they have the money to do this or that" holds no water. The money is not there and won't be unless taxes are raised to refill the coffers. Blame whomever you wish, but the money isn't going to miraculously appear unless it is collected via taxes. Take the initiative and even go so far as to decide that you will be a one hit wonder, but please do what is right for everyone, NOT what is right to get re-elected.
