photo 13 e1323985771960Former “Real Housewives of New York” star Jill Zarin has evolved from reality star to fashion designer—As she leaves her role on the Bravo series she steps into a new one in fashion.

This past week, Zarin made a special appearance at Lord & Taylor in the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City to introduce her new line of shapewear and hosiery, Skweez Couture.

From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.,  Zarin assisted customers in selecting the best possible garments for their figure.

“What we all have in common is the need for an immediate solution to smooth out certain areas of our body so we can “Skweez” into our clothes and feel confident and beautiful at any size,” reads the Skweez Couture website.

Zarin’s new line was designed and developed by Jill with help from Triad Hosiery. The line is an affordable yet luxurious shapewear, tights and legwear line. The 25 piece collection features briefs, shapers, leggings, tights and tanks.

It features seamless and cut and sew pieces that come in an array of colors to match many skin tones.

Now, I know what you may be thinking, just another celebrity collection, but Zarin may be different. She has a history in fashion, long before her televised trips to the Middle East.

Zarin graduated from Simmons College School of Retail Management and began her career in textiles. She went on to become the National Sales Manager/Vice President of Great American Knitting Mills Jockey division as well as a marketing consultant at Zarin Fabric Warehouse, owned by her husband, Bobby.

Skweez Couture isn’t her first line either, she also introduced “Jill Zarin Home” bedding too, and we’re sure this won’t be her last.
