Restaurant Week has hit the dining capital of Long Island: Huntington Restaurant Week kicked off Sunday, Oct. 9 and will run through Sunday, Oct. 16, offering great dining deals at top restaurants and leaving pricey plates for patrons in another town!

Various restaurants in Huntington will offer customers a 3-course, prix fixe menu, encouraging patrons to taste outside their comfort zone without paying a high price and possibly find new food favorites. It also gives restaurants a chance to gain new business.

Over 55 Huntington restaurants are participating this week and will offer a 3-course prix fixe menu at $24.95. Huntington boasts an array of popular eats including:

Cafe Buenos Aires: An Argentinian restaurant located at 23 Wall Street is one of the popular participating restaurants. The place will be serving Empandadas for two, Humita Saltena or Ensalada Gaucha for appetizers and Vacio Asado, Paella Valenciana, among others for entrees. And for dessert: Mousse of the Day or Flan.

Prime: A waterfront restaurant located at 11 New York Avenue, is another place attracting many patrons this week. The restaurant specializes in luxury seafood, offering Spicy Shrimp Roll, Pink Lentil Soup or Caesar Salad for appetizers; Pan Seared Salmon, Pink and Green Peppercorn Crusted Pork Chop, among others for the main course; and Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta and Walnut Tart for dessert.

Fado: A fairly new Portuguese restaurant located at 10 New Street, is seeing new patrons pour in this week eager to get a taste of their discount dishes. Fado is offering Bacalhau com Grao, traditional salt cod served with chilled and tossed with chick peas, Queijo Fresco, fresh Portuguese cheese with pumpkin jam and toastets, among others for appetizers. Some of the entrees the restaurant will be serving are: Cocos with Alperce e Amendoa, cornish hen dressed with apricot and toasted almond glaze over green beans and rice, and Carne de Costelas Cozinhado a Lume Brando, slow braised short ribs over sun-dried tomato, among others. And to finish off the meal, they will serve Musse de Chocolate Preto, Bole de Cenoura and carrot cake for dessert. Fado also has specially selected wines by the glass for Restaurant Week including Fado Rose and Fado Tinto.

Other participating restaurants include Honu, Besito, Neraki, 516, Red, Pomodorino, Guido’s and Nisen, among others. Check out DineHuntington.com for a full list of participating restaurants.
