Three men were arrested and charged with robbery shortly after they allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven in East Islip, Suffolk County police said.
According to police, third precinct officers responded to a robbery at 7-Eleven on Montauk Highway on Friday. After hearing a broadcasted message about the robbery on the radio a fifth precinct sergeant entered a 7-11 in Sayville, and notified employees about the earlier robbery.
After leaving the store, the sergeant conducted a traffic stop and three passengers were taken into custody for the East Islip robbery.

The three men were charged for robberies at the 7-Eleven and a Getty Gas Station in Bay Shore on Sept. 7. They were all charged with first-degree robbery.
The three alleged robbers are: Reggie Lewis, 20, of Brooklyn; Jeffrey Francis, 21, of Medford; Travis Towler, 23, of Brooklyn. Francis was also charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the 7-Eleven robbery, police said.
Police also charged Francis and Towler with first-degree robbery of a 7-eleven in Commack and first-degree attempted robbery of a Metro Mart in East Northport. Both incidents took place on Sep. 10, police said.
All three were schedule to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip.
