They a garbage and deserve whatever they get, b ut I always get irritated when a suspects military experience is mentioned. It rarely is brought up in a positive story, but it seems that it's ALWAYS brought up when someone is arrested or alleged to have done something. Do we mention their religious or ethnic make up (as a rule)? Do we care if the person is an employed mechanic or an employed hairdresser? Why is it that if they are an unemployed whatever or a military veteran, it gets thrown out as if it has anything at all to do with the crime or the story.

{This just in~ A multi-millionaire who made his money on tiddly wink sales was arrested for public urination.}
