Hello I recently visited our Long Island Sonic for the 1st time. This is what happen to me- I pulled in and got waved to a parking space right away, it took them 7 mins from when I pressed the red button to say welcome to sonic. So my mother and I ordered- She ordered Mozzarella sticks and a bottle of water. I ordered a # 1 which was a cheese burger fries and drink. I’ll admit I did make 2 changes- I asked for no lettuce on my cheeseburger and I asked for an ocean water, not a soda. OK this was a simple order (or so I taught)
25 mins after we ordered our food came to us by our car hop- I was 25 mins, wow this food better be real good. (I was already at sonic for 32 mins) Well went to open my cheeseburger to find that it was NOT in fact a cheeseburger- it was a Bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. everything else was correct, I checked my receipt and it was correct as to what I had ordered- So push the RED button and 4 mins later a person says welcome to sonic , may I take your order- I explained the situation and she said she’d be right out- 5 mins later some sonic employee comes strolling out very casually- OK what ever….
She takes my receipt and the egg sandwich tells me she’ll be right back about 7 mins later she comes back and hands me the burger and the receipt. (OK I have been at sonic way too long at this point and no apology) So I open the burger and it’s wrong again. This time I went up to the building and asked for a manager. He came to the door after took my receipt and I explained what had happen and this was the 2nd time it’s incorrect, He said he would personally take care of it and bring it right out to me. Well 3 mins later he made the burger correctly and brought it out to me, However he never apologized, nor took blame for the mistakes, in fact he kept making excuses. As he was talking to me he noshantly covered his name tag so that I nor my passenger could see it. HOW RUDE- I explained to him that I used to work in a fast food restaurant and this experience would not be accectplable on Long Island. He still never apologized and told me that he hopes I would give them another try- I told him flat out that word of mouth reputation is key and I told him that I would not have one nice thing to say bout my experience at sonic. Well my mother happen to be my passenger with me that day, She was so appalled that she called sonic corporate, Not even an apology nor a condolence that the restaurant made such an error- It was about a week after I visited Sonic that I read your article. I will NOT be recommending Sonic to anyone.- You are not alone with your bad experience.

What a horrible article. Maybe you got a bad burger or something but I just got a Bacon cheesburger this past weekend and it was excellent. I’m a food snob myself but this guy is way off base:

Burgers: Better than McD’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King. Of course not as good as All American or Five Guys, but who would expect that.
Fries: 2nd only to McD’s
Ice Cream: Blows away any fast food place and better than most ice cream places

Rest of menu(hot dogs, chili cheese tots) are pretty good. Unfortunately my favorite thing at Sonic,the Chicken strips with white gravy and texas toast is not available at the Babylon location. It’s still a great place to eat though. Yes the lines are crazy and not worth the wait, no food place is. I only go on Sundays around noon, when noone is there.

In contrast to Chicago pizza (which is basically cake with sauce), I rather like a Chicago style hot dog. But as I’d posted back when Ron first mentioned that Sonic was coming, the chain aspires to mediocrity.

I live almost within walking distance of the place, but I’ve never been there because the lines are always so nuts. Now I understand why: All those people are idiots and you know better.

dude, are you on crack? the burgers there are DELICIOUS. they arent as good as a place like all-american, granted…but who expects them to be? it sure as hell beats the crap out of the other fast food joints like mickey d’s and BK. fries are always fresh, mozarella sticks restaurant quality, drinks are amazing, and ice cream is better than carvel! and the experience makes it very fun. just because you are an over-picky snob doesn’t mean you should slam a place.

First of all it is not Sonic’s fault that the car next to you was spewing out exhaust. If you did not like it you either pull up to a different slot or ask the person to PLEASE shut your car off as other people are trying to eat. Also, it is not Sonic’s fault if you waitress was complaining. If she does not like the job she can simply quit and find another one. As for the food I can agree. I had it once and it was poor at best.
