Hmmm…I thought I wrote something controversial when I wrote the comment below last night and it was removed. Now posted is close to what I was trying to point out. Here is my comment from last night:

Brady was charged with third degree robbery “but a prosecutor said on Thursday that those charges would likely be upgraded.” Likely?? Double standards should play no part in our criminal justice system, especially regarding a crime of this magnitude. How did they not already charge her with second degree murder?! The law is clear:
S 125.25 Murder in the second degree.(Sub. 3) NYS Penal Law
“Acting either alone or with one or more other persons, she commits or attempts to commit robbery, burglary, kidnapping, arson, rape in the first degree, sodomy in the first degree, sexual abuse in the first degree, aggravated sexual abuse, escape in the first degree, or escape in the second degree, and, in the course of and in furtherance of such crime or of immediate flight therefrom, she, or another participant, if there be any, causes the death of a person other than one of the participants; […].”
Political correctness, bowing down to special interests groups, and an endless list of double-standards plays its part in the social engineering of our country to the detriment of all. Throw “the book” at both of them.

I can’t believe she is only being charged with robbery and obstruction of justice the law states: application of the “felony murder rule,” under which a person commits first-degree murder if any death (even an accidental one) results from the commission of certain violent felonies — usually arson, burglary, kidnapping, rape, and robbery. She is just as guilty as her husband.

Elk….I could not have said it better myself. I watch the news in stunned silence most days. I cannot believe what is going on in this Country. Are our citizens asleep? Are they all filled up on Lindsey Lohan? The rags we used to call newspapers feed us garbage everyday. Where is the outrage that animals like this live among us. Those who have served notice that they are at war with civilized society are treated with respect and dignity. We find excuses for savage behavior. Treatment, rehabilitation….etc.
The Police in this Country can do nothing more than take reports and keep crime stats in file cabinets. They have become re-active to crime instead of pro-active. They are not allowed to prevent crime anymore in fear of being called racists or accused of civil rights violations. The sheeple just watch and forget while society becomes more uncivil.
I do not know how things can change unless the good citizens rise up and say “no More!”
I do not think that will happen anytime soon.

IMHO, PC Dormer is incorrect, and making an unnecessary assumption, when he states that Laffer’s behaviour is ‘beyond understanding’. It’s very understandable – Laffer is a degenerate, self absorbed, ne’er-do-well, who has no regard or respect for the sanctity of the lives of others, because he has, and deserves, no respect or regard, himself. Society does itself no favours, when it puts such individuals ‘on suicide watch’. Indeed, such means should be made easily available to individuals with so little regard for others’ lives. It’s absurd for society to not only have to suffer the acts of such useless jerks, but then to have to bear the expense of ‘defending’ and or ‘rehabilitating’ such jerks.
