A Centereach man has been arrested for allegedly killing his fiancé’s 90-year-old grandmother in Centereach on Tuesday night, Suffolk County police said.
Robert Waters was charged with second-degree murder.
Sixth Precinct police officers responded to a home on West Court Drive for a 911 caller reported that the 20-year-old man needed medical attention at 9:20 p.m.
After checking on Waters, officers found Florence Troiani had been beaten. She was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Waters was taken to the same hospital where he was admitted for observation. He will be arraigned at a later date.
