They need to lower the speed limit. I live here and there are bad accidents frequently. People drive up route 110 at highway speeds and its just not safe. I can only see more people getting hurt if more traffic is allowed to go through the area faster. The cross walks and countdown timers will probably put people in more danger by making them think it is safe to cross these roads on foot, which it is not. The Melville Fire Department is going to have its work cut out for it.
