It’s official: Long Island is now home to a Red Robin.
The national gourmet burger restaurant chain opened its doors Monday in the Country Glen Center next to the Barnes & Noble on Old Country Road in Carle Place near Roosevelt Field Mall.
Previously, the closest location to LI had been Clifton, NJ, or Milford, Conn.
Local lawmakers were on hand to welcome the staff to the neighborhood.
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc., the self-described Gourmet Burger Expert, is known for its Rookie Magic milkshakes in addition to a two-dozen variety of burgers recipes as well as appetizers, chicken sandwiches, entrees, salads, soups and wraps.
The grand opening is the second national restaurant chain to open up shop on LI in two weeks. Sonic, which describes itself as “America’s Drive In,” debuted to rave reviews April 25 at its North Babylon location on Deer Park Avenue.
Although this is the only Red Robin on LI, it is not the first—an earlier franchise location went out of business in the ‘90s. It is, however, the first corporate-owned Red Robin on LI.
The Carle Place location will be open 11 a.m. to midnight, Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 516-248-3700 or visit www.redrobin.com
