Taylor Swift just released a video for her new single “Mean.”
The video first aired last night and the single “Mean,” is from her “Speak Now” album.
The video shows the struggles of being picked on, being different and working hard but despite being the victim of bullying, you can still end up making your dreams come true.
She sings,”You, with your words like knives and swords and weapons that you use against me. You, have knocked me off my feet again. Got me feeling like a nothing. You, with your voice like nails on a chalkboard. Calling me out when I’m wounded. You, picking on the weaker man. Well you can take me down .With just one single blow.”
One famous face other besides Swift in the video is actress Joey King. She plays one of the characters being bullied.
Taylor warns of her impending fame, she sings, “Someday I’ll be living in a big ole city and all you’re ever gonna be is mean. Someday I’ll be big enough so you can’t hit me and all you’re ever gonna be is mean. Why you gotta be so mean?”
Taylor’s plight is only part of the story. The vid shows a young boy being picked on for his love of fashion by the football team. He makes them eat their words when he becomes a big-time fashion designer. Then there’s the girl who deals with being tormented at her humiliating job, but she puts up with it so she can save up money for college and eventually run a huge company, reported neonlimelight.com.
