several years ago I brought to the attention of Mulvey and The Nassau DA of an incident of Official Misconduct by Nassau County Police. I was willing to testify in court against them. The stalled me off and stalled me off until DA told me to go away. Chief of Department Steve Skrynecki was CO of Internal Affairs at the time and is a complete douchebag pompous ass. Thank you Press for an excellent piece on some troubling activity. It’s good to see a newspaper that actually acts like a real newspaper with investigative reporting. If you don’t think a police department that lacks even the most basic transparency about donors is troubling you should have your head examined. Now I think I’ll check out Newsday to read about the latest traffic infractions.

Am I missing something? It seems the only fact reported in this piece is that the Foundation exists. All over the country these foundations exist, so departments can add additional training and electronics to help better serve the public. They need private funding because state and local funds are no longer available. This is investigative reporting? It is nothing but speculation, and interviewing sources that do not want to coem forward The press should be ashamed at posting an artice like this with no corroboration. Ms. Domash, you should look into another career.

This is no shock.

A PBA (Policeman’s Benevolent Association) card – whether you have it because your neighbor or cousin or bowling league partner is a County cop – is an automatic “get out of a ticket for free” card!

Nassau (and Suffolk too, don’t get me wrong!) cops treat the general public VERY differently from the people connected to their Department.

And they get six figures a year to boot.

Man, that makes me mad…
