Tilikum, the 6-ton whale that drowned a SeaWorld Orlando trainer in 2010 is performing again.
Since the tragic accident, SeaWorld officials say they have taken extensive safety measures, including the addition of nets and rails, to prevent something similar from happening again.
Tilikum has been involved in three deaths and hasn’t performed in more than a year.
Tilikum performed Wednesday in SeaWorld’s killer whale show “Believe” after SeaWorld officials gave the okay earlier in the week.
On Feb. 24, 2010, Tilikum pulled trainer Dawn Brancheau into the water by her hair and fatally shook her.
Trainer Keltie Byrne of Victoria drowned in 1991 after falling into the tank and being pulled underwater by Tilikum.
In July 1999, Daniel Dukes, who had snuck into SeaWorld after closing, was found dead on top of Tilikum the next morning.
