I guess these fat, disgusting, mullet-sporting inbreds weren’t exactly born into class or tastefulness. They probably don’t even know any better. If they had any sort of respect, even for themselves, they probably wouldn’t want to look like blubbery, gross Wal-Martians. Sigh, oh well. I guess in a morbid way (morbidly obese way, ha ha), that is their punishment. They enjoy killing animals, but they also know the rest of the world likes to laugh at their hideous disgusting bodies as they waddle around the grocery store. (And yes, we take the same kind of videos of them with the contents of their shopping carts, and we laugh and sing.)

How many more lives are going to be destroyed before they are stopped? Where is the Justice? Who is going to give Pat Horan her reputation back?? How about Kate Murray for starters seeing as how she jumped the gun by removing her without pr…oof!!I am so sick of all the injustice. Someone finally has the nads to post the truth and proof of documents that put Diane in a not so brite light and I make comments based on truth and morons on the Patch are saying I am slanderous??!!! Reality check people! Are we no longer governed by the 1st amendment??

I don’t believe what is still going on at the Hempstead Animal Shelter to this day. I just saw a picture of a dog sitting in his kennel, hovered in the corner because they had just cleaned his cage with bleach & water with him still in it! They still haven’t let rescue groups in & they are overwhelmed with animals. How many are being euthanized that don’t have to be? I have spoken to people who live in that very neighborhood & had no idea what is going on. We as a community need to come together somehow & fight this unacceptable treatment of these animals. We owe it to them. So many are suffering from the hands of these people that these animals should be able to trust. Why would you turn away a rescue group that could help save lives, unless you have something to hide. If anyone reading this has any suggestions as to what could be done, I would love to hear them, maybe we can make this change for the better & save lives. I already went to a protest that they had outside the shelter & unfortunately only about 300 people showed up. I have never been to anything like it & it was very moving.

I saw the film footage of “Kill the Kitty” on News Channel 7 6 o’clock on March 14. Bill Ritter warned that the film was disturbing, and it was. I still can’t believe that paid workers at a shelter would mock the death of an innocent animal in such a disgusting way (sexual gestures, hand signals, chants of “Kill the Kitty”). Their obvious enjoyment of the cat’s impending death was horrifying. The film was cut short just before the cat was injected by a blond woman holding a large syringe–and appeared to be an animal snuff film. These people are sick. Even if it was made many years ago, sadism like this does not change over time. These people should be fired.

Dear Ms. Singleton:

On March 14, 2011, Pat Horan – Shelter Director for the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter was reassigned, after disturbing video (www.youtube.com Kill The Kitty) surfaced depicting Ms. Horan and a staff member committing an act of cruelty against a cat.

Pat Horan’s employment must be terminated and the Attorney General’s Office must conduct a full investigation of the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. Criminal charges must be brought against Pat Horan and others who have participated in cruel and inhumane behavior, as well as those who had knowledge of such behavior and took no action.

It would not be the first time abuse and cruelty were exposed at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter and it is clear to many, Kate Murray – Town Supervisor, cannot or will not, police agencies under her jurisdiction. Transparency is non-existent and corruption widespread, at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. Advocates in Nassau County attempting to save lives and improve conditions, have been barred and met with resistance by county officials and shelter management.

Unfortunately, we unfairly brutalize animals every day (the tuna was just one of many examples). Apparently, few are concerned unless the animal is cute and furry. My point is that if we truly care about preventing the mistreatment of animals, our concerns should extend beyond adorable kittens.

So Hanns — you are saying that if someone punches their kid, it’s fine because they kicked their wife? What people eat is irrelevant here. There is a shelter that has had two decades of abuses, including drowning a puppy in bleach, employees making up to 100K/year, no veterinarians on staff, dogs bleeding to death, being supported by tax dollars and a difference can be made if these heads are booted out of office. Whether or not there is hypocrisy is irrelevant and detracts from the issue which is action. For the tuna fish that are being wiped out and slaughtered — get some pamphlets, make some, and walk door to door putting them on people’s porches or on car windshields. Give them an alternative — there are many. But don’t condone or distract from the abuses at hand. It’s irrelevant and does nothing. It doens’t help the animals at this draconian camp they call a ‘shelter.’

Pat Horan deserves to be threatened with death by a big strapping 300 pound man with a big stick.

Maybe that will teach her it’s wrong to threaten and bully defenseless creatures!!
