North Merrick Fire Deemed Suspicious


Authorities are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred in North Merrick on Saturday at 12:05 a.m., police said.

Police responded to Abby Dry Cleaners on Jerusalem avenue and found the store engulfed in flames. North Merrick and North Bellmore fire departments responded with approximately 75 firefighters and 10 pieces of apparatus to extinguish the fire, police said. There were no reported injuries.

The Nassau County Fire Marshall and Arson/Bomb Squad detectives deemed the fire suspicious and said the investigation is ongoing.
