Lived on long island my whole life… has been this way as long as I remember and don’t see people complaining… It think we prefer it this way.

Well my kids are biracial. I am Hispanic and my husband is black from the Caribbean. He is a professional engineer and owns his own business. Our kids play with mostly white kids and sometimes moms don’t want them playing with their kids or coming to their high class neighborhoods because they don’t want their neighbors to start talking. We live in Bay Shore but we are selling our home to move in to a better school district and neighborhood, but I question it because my kids will be looked at strangely or be excluded from their peers because the color of their skin. It really is sad because my kids are so social and out going. Whites here in long island are very judgmental and care what people think. It’s not that blacks or Hispanic can’t afford to live in these neighborhoods but is that racism is very high in long island.

Just another liberal propaganda study to push an ACORN-like agenda. Quote:

“Erase Racism, a year-old nonprofit group sponsored by the Long Island Community Foundation in Jericho, and hired by David Rusk, an international consultant on urban and suburban issues, to research the study and present it at a conference in Islandia on Wednesday.”

The fact of the matter is, people naturally segregate themselves and want to live with people like themselves. There is nothing wrong or racist about it.

Reject liberal social engineering and embrace facts and reality.

Oddly enough, you don’t see many light skinned folks moving into neighborhoods mostly populated by dark skinned folks.

I guess “them” don’t want to live with “those”.

The sad part is that this continued segregation is exactly what keeps certain towns as “ghettos” for decade after decade here on the island.

These “minority: neighborhoods are treasure troves of affordable housing, yet; ‘dem light skinned folks won’t or don’t take advantage.

Not very smart.
