Further evidence that the Thunderbolt will be released on Wednesday, March 16th. As I mentioned in an earlier post, HTC and Verizon jointly published ads in Entertainment Weekly with a photo of the phone emblazoned with the above referenced date. The same strategy was used by HTC and AT&T for the Inspire 4G. If anyone remembers the photo from that ad, the date — “Sun. Feb 13″ — was placed under the phone’s clock. On that day, Inspire was released to the public. A reprint of that ad can be seen in today’s New York Times, page A15.

I like many other put my pre-order in the first week of February and have been waiting for the Thunderbolt to release ever since the first annouced date of February 14th. Finally this morning I got a call from a Rep stating that the phone will finally arrive on Thursday March 17th. Just wanted to share the news with everyone out there that is so anxious to atleast hear some kind of news. Hope this helps.

From what I heard from Verizon today, the release date is March 10 or so. If the phone is as good as what I hear, it may be worth buying when it comes out as opposed to waiting until July or August until Iphone 5 comes out on Verizon. Evo on steroids seems to be what many of us are waiting for!

When it comes to the Thunderbolt, HTC seems to be playing a very smart curiosity-iunducing guessing game with the public. I’ll join in on the fun with my own guess and say that HTC announced the date two weeks ago with their advertisement in Entertainment Weekly. Notice the date on the ad’s photo of the phone: Wednesday, March 16.

Hopefully the release date is this month, not next. Still, it’s better that the network works, so that the Thunderbolt isn’t crippled from the start. http://BuyThunderboltPhone.com has a good post today about what Verizon can do to prevent future botched launches when partnered with retailers

The Feb 28th, March 4th, and March 21st release dates are probably all not going to happen because if you look back the Zoom which was released today, Feb 24th which is a Thursday and also the iphone released internal to Verizon customers on Feb 3rd a Thursday and external Feb 10th also a Thursday and then look even further back to the droid X which I believe was July 15th and was also a Thursday, so all those non Thursday dates will most likely not happen. Most companies like Verizon will keep to a standard system. The thunderbolt will be released on a Thursday but just which Thursday, I’m not sure yet, but i’m hoping its March 3rd!

Talked to verizon store in my area, and 2/24 looks very doubtful. As of 2/23 they haven’t even ordered any to stock yet.And he stated they are getting calls everyday. The rep also went on to say that (at least this store) didn’t even bother to stock not one iphone. They don’t even have one for display and as of 2/23 this store has not sold even one at all. He also said that Verizon is stuck with unsold millions of iphones and ventured a guess this might be some of the reason for the delay. But he also said his guess was as good as any…..However he said iphone sales are dismal at best……..lol no surprise here.

I would not hold your breath for the Feb. 28th release date. I have been dead on thus far with my info and predictions. Verizon just keeps dropping the ball. The Thunderbolt is going to be a big disappointment. I can not believe Verizon has added insult to injury by asking $299.00 for this phone. This phone will be marked down to $150.00 before the summer starts and everyone will have forgotten all about the Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt is alot of rumbling and no big thunder bang or lightning to follow. What a joke.

I have a friend that works in Verizon in a nice position, and told me last night (against his confidentiality with the company) that they usually receive training before a phone is released. He was told they wouldn’t be receiving any training this week or next week. That is the info he was given. (basically read between the lines) It ain’t coming out till at least second week of March.

I purchased my spot with Best Buy (BBY) on the 9th of Feb with the promise I could get the phone on the 14th. Then on the 20th a Verizon (V) store told me the 21st, then both said the 24th but today there is no official date. Some lawyer needs to do a class action for Deceptive Trade Practices and Fraudulent Inducement. When asked, BBY says they have no plans of compensating those who pre-purchased, tough luck.

Over the release date of the thunderbolt
If it is not released on the 24th I just going to
AT&T and buy the damn IPhone and be done with it.
If the keep delaying there must be something wrong
with the thunderbolt that they can’t fix.

I called Best Buy Yesterday and the person from the mobile department said she’d be calling me soon in regards to my deposit because the release date is February 28th. I hope she wasn’t lying
