Actress Peggy Rea, well known for her roles in classics like Gunsmoke, The Waltons, The Dukes of Hazzard, Step by Step and Grace Under Fire, has died at the age of 89.

Rea died on February 5 of congestive heart failure at her Toluca Lake, California home.
Rea began her career with an appearance on I Love Lucy in the 1950s.
She also appeared on MacGyver, Have Gun, Will Travel and The Red Skelton Hour.
On Grace Under Fire, Rea played Brett Butler’s mother-in-law and on The Waltons, she played Olivia Walton’s cousin, Rose.
Rea originated the role of Eunice Hubbell in the Broadway production of A Streetcar Named Desire and played the part in the show’s touring company.
Rea also starred on Broadway in Cole Porter’s Out of This World.
