Mount Sinai Man Killed In Car Crash

A Mount Sinai man was killed in a car accident early Sunday morning.

Jonathan Havlicek, 19, was a passenger in a 1988 Mercedes Benz being piloted by Krystle Rivera, say police.

According to reports, Rivera was driving the car eastbound on Middle Country Road in Smithtown when she lost control of the vehicle, it struck a tree and overturned.


Havlicek appeared to be a backseat passenger. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rivera, 23, and two other passengers were reportedly transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
