Actor Hugh Jackman sustained an eye injury while performing a dramatic entry to the set of the Oprah Winfrey Show during its filming in Sydney, Australia.
The 42-year-old actor was zip-lining from the Sydney Opera House to Oprah’s stage. The stunt went awry when Jackman hit the breaks too late and crashed into a lighting rig, injuring his right eye.
“That’s going to swell,” said Winfrey.
The show took a break from filming so that paramedics could attend to Jackman’s wounds, which were only a minor facial injury.
After the actor was treated he appeared with a small piece of tape under his eye and an obvious bruise beneath it. He comforted his son Oscar, 1o in the front row who was upset by the incident and then continued filming the show.
“I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbor, saw my dad, the kids and you, went to pull the brake and then boing,” said Jackman, “Totally my bad.”
Later on in the show Jackman performed “I Still Call Australia Home” with the Qantas Children’s Choir. He was then joined by several of his Australian peers including Nicole Kidman, OliviaNewton-John, Keitn Urban, and Russell Crowe.
