Miguel Soto of New Haven Conn. was leaving a deli after buying a sandwich when he was shot twice; once in the leg and the other in the groin. Instead of rushing to the emergency room, the 25-year-old went home and ate his lunch before asking his father to take him to the hospital. Police did not disclose whether Soto had realized he had been shot or decided the injuries were not serious enough to warrant a hospital visit. His injuries were non life-threatening, and in his defense, we all know how long a trip to the emergency room takes. And if it was a really good sandwich…

Want to get out of jury duty? Just mention that you used to be bff with a serial killer. John Backderf was excused from jury service in Cleveland after he was asked if he’d known anyone convicted of a crime. “I had a close friend in high school who killed 17 people” was his answer. This understandably caused the judge to freeze and the lawyers to drop their pens. Backderf was dismissed. His childhood friend, Jeffrey Dahmer, confessed to killing and dismembering men and boys in Milwaukee. He was killed by an inmate in a Wisconsin prison in 1994. Backderf is a graphic novelist who is about to publish “My Friend Dahmer”…
A 22-year-old California man was arrested for allegedly trying to run down his ex-girlfriend after she refused his marriage proposal. He was arrested walking down the street with a bouquet of flowers. Hernandez faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon…
