One Long Island dentist is taking a preemptive strike against cavities caused by Halloween candy.
Dentist Kenneth Gerber is offering $1 per pound of Halloween candy brought to his Port Jefferson Station office on Monday, Nov. 1 from 4-6 p.m.
Children who surrender their candy for cash will also receive a glowing electric toothbrush which Dr. Gerber describes as “light sabers for your mouth.”
To receive the money, the candy must be unopened and of course not bitten. Additional candy donations will be accepted throughout the week. At the end of the week, all candy will be shipped to troops overseas.
Dr. Kenneth Gerber’s office is located at 5225 Nesconset Hwy. Suite 6. 631-331-4200.
Dr. Mary Carlson is also hosting a candy buy back program at her Williston Park office from Monday Nov.1 through Friday Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
637 Willis Ave Suite E. 516-248-8188.
