In the race to replace outgoing Assemblyman Bob Barra (R-Lynbrook), who is stepping down after a decade, Thomas, 34, is a political newcomer and Manhattan attorney well versed in business law. He says being a board member of Northeast Brooklyn Housing Development Corporation gave him experience in the realm of creating sustainable communities.
