Once again, Tylenol is facing a public-relations dilemma: Approximately 128,000 bottles of Tylenol were recalled yesterday, due to what is being described as a “moldy odor.”
Tylenol’s parent company, Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has recalled the product—Tylenol eight-hour pills—after customers complained of the odor. According to J&J, this is a “voluntary” recall, and there will likely be no consequences to anyone who ingests the pills…but just the same, customers are encouraged to avoid them.
“This voluntary action is being taken as a precaution and the risk of adverse medical events is remote,” said a release from J&J.
This recall is of 50-count bottles with the lot number BCM155.
January 15 of this year, J&J recalled 53 million bottles of Tylenol, Motrin and Rolaids because of similar odors.
