I now have great hope for the future of domestic animals. What a wonderful program…kudos to the person or persons who developed the idea. The best part is the funding. Lets hope this catches on in all counties of all the states. I know I will do my part to promote your ingenius idea here in Virginia. Bless you all…lets hope it makes a difference.

I was born and raised in Suffolk County and lived there for 42 years. It WAS a great place to grow up; however, for many reasons, I chose to move my children out of Suffolk County before they reached high school ages. My family and I love our new home in upstate NY and feel truly blessed to have left Suffolk County. However, this recent legislation has actually given me one thing to be proud of in regard to having once lived there.

What a ridiculous* waste of your education, being unable to spell and unable to differentiate “they” from “they’re.”

Kudos to Suffolk County for doing what every state should be doing. It isn’t about caring more for animals than for human beings, it’s about caring for animals, period. If a person abuses an animal, they shouldn’t be able to own another – just as child abusers are not allowed to even be NEAR children.

No, you probably haven’t, because you’re too busy whining about your taxes and spitting on the idea of an animal having rights.

Besides, had you even bothered to read THIS article instead of just glancing over the title, you would have read “The registry will NOT USE ANY taxpayer funds, and the UPKEEP WILL BE PAID FOR BY THE ABUSER THEMSELVES, who have to pay $50 annually.” The only way this is a waste of your money is if you’re an animal abuser in the system – in that case, you deserve it.

Stop complaining about something that doesn’t even affect you and pick up a damn book, because clearly you are unable to read.

Bravo . . . Suffolk County! for enacting the kind of laws that will help to protect innocent animals from horrendous abuse by people who are worse than animals. Someone once wrote these words concerning animal abuse, “The question is not whether they can talk or whether they can reason . . the question is . . CAN THEY SUFFER?” All living creatures can and do feel pain and fear just as we do. God bless the law makers in Suffolk county. Benita Smith, Allentown, NJ
