Halloween came early when a man wearing a mask from the horror movie Scream tried to rob a Farmingdale donut shop but fled the scene after a worker doused him with hot water.

Nassau County police released images of the armed would-be robber who walked in the back door of the Dunkin Donuts on Fulton Street at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.

He was wearing all black and displayed a dark-colored/silver handgun when he demanded an employee give him money, police said.  He fled through the same rear door when the victim threw hot water at the gunman.

In July, an armed robber dressed in a Darth Vader helmet, cape and camouflage pants robbed a Suffolk County bank. That suspect is also still wanted by police.

Police ask anyone who can identify the subject or has any information about this crime to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477). All calls will be confidential. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.
