Man Found Afire in Copiague Treated for Burns

A man who was found on fire in Copiague on Sunday night was being treated for serious burns on Monday, Suffolk County police said.

The victim was found on the corner of Great Neck Road and Railroad Avenue near the Copiague train station at 8 p.m. He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

The man’s identity was not immediately available as police are waiting to speak with the victim through an interpreter.


A police spokeswoman could not confirm initial reports that the man is homeless.
