The Buffalo Bills have let Trent Edwards, their quarterback, go. Because really, the Bills are going to lose most games whether there’s a guy taking snaps or not.

Trent Edwards was drafted by the Bills in the third round of the ’07 draft and has gone 14-18 as the Buffalo Bills’ starter since then.
The Bills’ releasing of Trent Edwards comes just a day after the team lost 38-30 against the New England Patriots. Despite the loss, the Bills’ offense showed signs of life–after Edwards was benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick, another quarterback on their roster.
Earlier in the season, Trent Edwards was benched after his team lost to the Green Bay Packers 34-7.
The Buffalo Bills are now 0-3 and will host the Jets Sunday. Either Fitzpatrick or Brian Brohm will be calling plays and reaching between the center’s legs for that game.
The Associated Press made note of the fact that the Bills’ notification to media of Edwards’ releasing was only two paragraphs long. Even with the obligatory “We thank Trent Edwards for his efforts with the team” line, that’s pretty darn short.
In 32 starts and 34 games, Edwards has 5,739 passing yards, with 25 and 27 interceptions, and is 535 for 878.
