Two years ago, the original Range Rover Evoque concept—then dubbed the LRX—was at the New York International Auto Show. Years later, Land Rover is done tweaking the concept, and the car is finally ready for production.

The all-new Range Rover Evoque is set for its public debut at the Paris Motor Show on Oct. 2.
It’s “A car that begins to redefine what range rover is about,” says the admittedly biased Land Rover site www.helloevoque.com
The Evoque has its ancestors blood flowing through its veins. Unlike its ancestors, the Evoque will introduce some necessary advancements to make a better fit in the modern world. Appealing to a broader crowd by being more eco-friendly then ever, the Evoque will be the most fuel efficient of all Range Rovers, with sub 130g/km of CO2 emissions.
“It marks a bold evolution of Range Rover design,” said Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern.
Similar yet different, the new edition will keep some of the same features as earlier models. Like all Range Rovers, the Evoque is an SUV. The difference is that it is significantly smaller in size. It will be the smallest, lightest vehicle the company has every produced.
Land Rover ensures this environmentally conscious car doesn’t lack any luxury found in any of its other top-notch models. The very upscale Range Rover brand that is known for providing lavish automobiles promises that although the Evoque may look cosmetically different, it still offers the same opulence on the as any other Range Rover.
Although the public debut is coming up, the wait to park an Evoque in your driveway continues: It will be available in showrooms late 2011.
