It’s Boardwalk Weekend! This weekend is Boardwalk Weekend, part of the 37th Annual Neptune Festival in Virginia Beach, Va.
The weekend-long event takes place every year during the last full weekend of September. According to the Neptune Festival website, it attracts more than 500,000 people each year and generates $18 million in commerce for the Virginia Beach area.
The Neptune Festival was started in 1973 by the Virginia Beach Chamber of Commerce President Richard Kline to celebrate the people and uniqueness of Virginia Beach. Now in its 37th year, the Festival is recognized by the Library of Congress.
Boardwalk Weekend takes place until Sunday. Hours today are from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. and tomorrow from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
