A woman robbed a Rockville Centre bank this morning and police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
According to Nassau County Robbery Squad detectives, a female subject entered the Astoria Federal Savings Bank located at 339 Merrick Rd. in Rockville Centre at 9:48 a.m. this morning. She passed a demand note to the teller asking for money. The teller complied with the request and handed the subject an unknown amount of cash. The suspect then fled the bank on foot.
All eight employees and customers in the bank during the robbery were unharmed.
The subject is described as black female in her early- to mid-30s. She is estimated to be between 5-feet-7-inches and 5-feet-8-inches and weigh 180 pounds. She has a dark complexion, thick build and dark, brown, shoulder-length curly hair with blond highlights. She was seen wearing dark sneakers, black leggings, a gray hooded and zipped sweater and dark sunglasses.
