Will Forte Leaving SNL: Will Forte Saying Goodbye to Saturday Night Live

After eight seasons, Will Forte is saying goodbye to Saturday Night Live.

The New York Times reported on Thursday that Forte will no longer be a cast member on SNL and will not appear on the shows new fall episodes.

According to Forte’s publicist, Lewis Kay, Forte is leaving SNL to pursue other opportunities.

He started his career with the NBC late-night show in the 2002-2003 season. The New York Times also reported that Forte is grateful to SNL producer, Lorne Michaels, and the incredible people he worked with over the years.

He starred and co-wrote the SNL spinoff film MacGruber. The action comedy was released in May. Forte also starred in Beerfest, Baby Mama and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men.
