When a North Amityville man reported his 30-year-old girlfriend missing Monday morning, Suffolk County police were immediately suspicious.
“He hasn’t given us reasonable answers to our questions as it regards to her disappearance,” said Detective Lt. Gerard Pelkofsky of the Homicide Squad.
Mandy Jo Jenkins’ boyfriend reported her missing from their Seabro Avenue apartment at 7 a.m. Police did not name of the boyfriend.
Detectives believe there may have been a struggle at the scene prior to Jenkins’ disappearance, but declined to elaborate.
The couple lived together in an illegal apartment inside a Halloween supply store warehouse, Pelkofsky said.
Jenkins, formerly from West Babylon and a graduate of North Babylon High School, is believed to have worked for the Halloween company.
Detectives ask that anyone who may have information about this incident to call them at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
