A Mastic Beach man reported that four of his goats were killed by a pair of pit bulls.
William Barbaro told authorities that he was awakened at 4 a.m. Friday by a noise outside, and found two dogs attacking four of his female goats. Three were already dead and hours later the fourth died.
The four female were kept in Barbaro’s backyard. He also owns two male goats that were found inside of his garage unharmed. He told the press that he had intended to move the goats to his parent’s property in Maine. Goat ownership is allowed in the town as long as the owners have a license.
The owners of the pit bulls have yet to be identified, and the case is currently under investigation.
