FWIW, I was there during the first few hours of MTV’s existence and loved them throughout the ’80s and ’90s, in spite of it’s shameless industry promotion and struggles with it’s ‘white kids only’ mentality. I guess we’ve now seen that intellectual shallowness play itself out as they devolve into shoveling the sh%t the most common denominator will feed off.
